Police investigate after man found dead in Birkenhead street

Merseyside Police has confirmed that emergency services were on Borough Road in Birkenhead following an incident last night, Thursday 20 April.

At around 10pm, police were called to Borough Road following reports that a man had been found unconscious by a member of the public, initially believed to have been a medical episode.

He was taken to hospital where he was sadly pronounced deceased.

Enquiries are ongoing and CCTV examinations and witness enquiries are being carried out in the area.

Detective Inspector David Sung said, “Our sincere thoughts and condolences are with the family of the man who sadly died following this tragic incident.

“If you witnessed this incident on Borough Road last night at around 10pm or have any dashcam footage from your vehicle please contact police as soon as possible.”
