Police dog helps catch Wallasey man who fled scene of collision

A man has been charged following a collision in Wallasey on Monday 8 May.

At around 12.20am Merseyside Police received a report of a collision involving a white Vauxhall Insignia being driven on Seabank Road and a parked vehicle.

It was reported that the driver of the Vauxhall Insignia got out of the car and left the area. 

PD Yoko and officers searched the area and found a man on Haydock Road.

Michael Haygarth, aged 44, of Wallasey was later charged with driving a vehicle when above the alcohol limit and failing to stop after a road traffic accident. 

He was granted bail and will attend Wirral Magistrates Court on Wednesday 31 May.
