Police attend address in Wallasey following sighting of suspected firearm

Police were in attendance in Wallasey this afternoon (Monday 19 April) following reports of a man in possession of a suspected firearm.

Officers were called to an address on Poulton Road just before 1.20pm where a member of the public reported they had witnessed a suspected drug deal.

It was further reported that one man was in possession of an item that was reported to be a firearm.

Officers attended the address and detained two males and a female.

Police searched the address and no weapons were found.

Those detained were released and the scene has now been stood down.
