Police appeal following burglary in Halewood

Merseyside Police is appealing for information following a burglary at a house on Crantock Close in Halewood in August.

At around 5am on August 22, it was reported that a man climbed over a back fence before gaining entry into a property while the occupants were asleep.

He remained inside the house for around 45 minutes before leaving in different clothing and in possession of a number of stolen items.

No one was harmed, but the occupants were left very distressed after the incident.

Since the burglary, officers have carried out an extensive investigation and analysed CCTV footage to identify anyone who could be responsible.

Detective Inspector Lisa Milligan said, “Thankfully no one was harmed during the incident, but the victims were left very distressed. Even though several months have passed since this burglary, we are determined to bring this person to justice.

“I would like to appeal to residents in the area to check their CCTV and doorbell footage between the hours of 5am-5.45am on 22 August to see if it may have captured anything which may help with our enquiries and contact us so we can bring the offender to justice.

“If you have any information no matter how small or irrelevant you may think it is please pass it on to us as it could be what we need to identify this man.”

Anyone with any information on this incident is asked to contact us @MerPolCC on Twitter, ‘Merseyside Police Contact Centre’ on Facebook or ring 101 with reference 22000618941.
