Oxton Art Fair returns this autumn

Oxton Artists was founded in 2004 by a group of friends who were aware there was a core of artists residing in the area.

With artists formerly of the area returning from overseas and newcomers attracted to the community atmosphere and picturesque village, the Oxton Art Fair was born.

Since then, it has held its annual November Oxton Art Fair event at the Williamson Art Gallery and Museum. All of the member-artists and craftspeople have connections to and/or live in Oxton and exhibit regularly in the North West, some nationally and a few internationally.

A spokesperson for Oxton Artists said, “As our last two art fairs have been bijou affairs, this year we’re going large with 21 of Wirral’s finest local artists showcasing their work over one weekend. Including our OAF artist members, we will be introducing an exciting line-up of 11 enormously talented guest artists across seven galleries at the Williamson Art Gallery and Museum.

“Whether you want to browse, buy or come and chat to the artists about their processes, you can find your perfect original piece among the painters, photographers, printmakers, jewellers, illustrators, ceramicists, mixed-media, and textile artists. Last year well over 1,000 people visited the fair.”

Oxton Art Fair is at the Williamson Art Gallery & Museum, Slatey Road, Birkenhead on Saturday 18 November (10am- 5pm) and Sunday 19 November (10 – 4pm).
