Tranmere visited Hartlepool this evening for a 7:45pm kick-off in their latest game of the 2021/22 League 2 season.
Rovers have been on a bit of a rollercoaster ride through their last few games, with two wins, two losses, and a draw in their last five.
Hartlepool are firmly mid-table but haven’t lost a game in their last five.

Tranmere suffered another disappointing defeat this evening away to Hartlepool. An own goal from Peter Clarke secured victory for the hosts.
A Hartlepool free-kick taken by David Ferguson proved to be the last attack of the first half. Sadly for Tranmere, in a busy penalty area, Peter Clarke manage to glance the ball into the corner of the Rovers net.
Prior to the goal, there were very few chances. The only real opportunity was created by Hartlepool, when Luke Molyneux trickled a ball straight to Tranmere keeper, Ross Doohan.
Tranmere were slightly more energised at the start of the second half and pushed on for an equaliser. An attempt by Kieron Morris was scrambled away by the Hartlepool defence.
Rovers’ best chance came from Kane Hemmings when a close-range strike was superbly pushed behind by Hartlepool keeper, Ben Killip.
Hemmings missed a headed attempt on goal from the ensuing corner, but he headed over from close range.
During stoppage time, Lewis Warrington tried a long shot but it ended too close to Killip and Hartlepool held on to their one goal lead as the final whistle blew.
Tranmere host Port Vale for a 3pm kick-off on Saturday 19 February in their next League 2 fixture.
