Birkenhead’s Convenience Gallery is hitting the road again and this time, they are on a trip over to Birkenhead Park in July to celebrate the park’s 175th Birthday.
Birkenhead Park is a place of historical and international significance as the first municipal park in the world. A spokesperson for the gallery said, “We’re really excited to bring a project and artists to their visitor centre space.”
The brief is simple: Art about Parks. What is your experience of parks? Do you have a favourite? Think about memories and moments, a feeling, a funny story, nostalgia of youth, the wildlife, habitats, design, ponds, trees, activities, community groups, clubs, history, or something else that relates to parks personally for you, we’d love for you to submit. We want this to be a fun and engaging exhibition for people in our local community. Convenience Gallery is looking to feature 10 – 20 artworks for this opportunity.
What type of work can you submit?
1. Pre-made works
OR 2. Proposals for new works that can be completed by drop off dates (11-13 July)
Multidisciplinary works.e.g. – sculpture, painting, installations, audio, film, performance, print, illustration, photography (The curators are open to all proposals and art forms).
