One arrested following string of knifepoint robberies

Officers from the Merseyside Police Matrix Roads Policing Unit were deployed last night following a recent series of knifepoint robberies and burglaries by a group using stolen motorcycles.

Police officers recovered two motorcycles that had been stolen, and took into custody a male from West Kirby.

The rider’s attempt to evade arrest by failing to stop was unsuccessful as one of the Merseyside Police vehicles made contact with the motorcycle, bringing the pursuit to a safe conclusion.

Anyone with information on motorcycles such as where they are being stored etc. can contact Merseyside Police social media desk via Twitter Merseyside Police Contact Centre or on Facebook at ‘Merseyside Police Contact Centre’.

You can also call 101 or contact the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111
