Nursery in Wallasey raises £370 for children’s charity with Sparkle Day

A nursery in Wallasey has raised £370 for children’s charity, Newlife.

Newlife raises funds and brightens the lives of disabled children and their families by providing much-needed support and specialist equipment.

When the charity told Kids Planet about Sparkle Day, the team couldn’t wait to get involved. Sparkle Day included face painting, glitter, sparkly clothing, afternoon tea and even a Strictly Come Dancing style ‘Dance off’.

There was a raffle for parents and staff with fabulous prizes to be won: an afternoon tea hamper and a chocolate fountain hamper.

Staff then went out into the local community with a fundraising bucket, where lots of local people and businesses got involved, including laundrettes, salons, pubs, gyms, cafés, shops, and the church.

Jennie Little, Nursery Deputy Manager at Kids Planet Wallasey, said, “It was a great way for our nursery to get involved in the community and raise money for a cause close to our hearts. The children and families loved it, and of course so did our staff team. As Newlife say, every child is born to sparkle!”
