Merseyside Police received a call at 4.40pm yesterday, Tuesday 21 September, to reports a nine-year-old boy who had been hit in the stomach with a plastic pellet from a BB gun in the area of Queens Road in Rock Ferry.
The boy was not injured and suffered only reddening to his stomach.
Officers attended and spoke to the boy and a second boy, aged 14, who was reported to have been in possession of the BB gun.
Both parties apologised and the BB gun was voluntarily handed over for disposal.
