New reign at Wallasey’s Queens Arms pub

Now part of the award-winning Craft Union Pub Company, which is current title holder of the Best Community Pub Operator and is famous for establishing pubs in the heart of their communities, the Queens Arms in Liscard Village has reopened following a £211,000 investment.

The new bar, together with new seating areas, is now equipped with Sky Sports and BT Sports across eight TV screens. The investment also brings the installation of a new darts and pool area for some friendly competition.

There are new operators on the throne of this community pub, Gemma and David Hughes, who have recently moved to the area. Gemma brings a wealth of hospitality experience with her having previously worked at another Craft Union pub – The Coffee House in Woolton, Liverpool. David is a member of the Armed Forces, still serving after 24 years.

Gemma said, “I am so excited about this new chapter at the Queens Arms. The feedback from our guests so far has been great. Our new look has given the site a new lease of life and it is great to see so many locals enjoy the pub. I cannot wait to work with the community in supporting local events and causes in the coming weeks and months.”

David added, “We’ve got a fantastic offering of entertainment on offer here. Between our events throughout the week to our weekend music and live sport there really is something for everyone in the community.”
