Stagecoach Bus has launched a new service connecting Ferry passengers travelling from Liverpool to New Brighton for the summer holidays.
The Open Top Bus will operate from their Birkenhead depot and take tourists from Seacombe Ferry Terminal to New Brighton and back. The service will connect with Ferry times to allow for easy travel connections.
The service will run seven days a week until the Bank Holiday in August and every weekend until the end of September.
Stagecoach, working with Merseytravel, is providing this service for free to all Mersey Ferry customers and customers visiting the Eureka! Science and Discovery Centre.
The £2 Adult capped fare will also be available on Route 400, making it great value for summer days out.
Matt Davies, Managing Director for Stagecoach Merseyside, Cheshire and South Lancashire, said, “Summer Staycations are the go-to for many families this year, and we wanted to improve access to local attractions for the summer period to support our community.
“Route 400 will use an Open Top Bus (when the weather allows) and take families from Seacombe Ferry Terminal to New Brighton to enjoy some seaside fun.”
Cllr Steve Foulkes, Chair of the Transport Committee, Liverpool City Region Combined Authority said, “We want to support local people and visitors this summer in exploring all that the Liverpool City Region has to offer and this new open-top bus linking our Mersey Ferries to New Brighton is another great way to do this.
“We are pleased to be working with Stagecoach as they offer free onward travel on the 400 bus service to all Mersey Ferries passengers.”
