New Brighton RNLI Crew member completes Lands End to John O’Groats cycle challenge

Volunteer crew member Mark Daly completes Lands End to John O’Groats cycle challenge in 12 days.

Yesterday, Tuesday 13 July, volunteer Lifeboat Crew member Mark Daly completed the Lands End to John O’Groats cycle challenge.

The challenge has taken him 12 days in total and has seen him cover over 1100 miles and stop at numerous lifeboat stations in the process.

The challenge wasn’t without its difficulties as it saw Mark suffer a fall on his bike, several flat tyres and a damaged gear mechanism. Despite these setbacks, Mark completed the challenge in his allotted time.

Mark has completed the challenge to raise money for RNLI and has so far seen him raise over £2600.

“Not only has he completed this difficult challenge but has raised thousands of pounds for the RNLI. I would also like to thank those that have helped him along the way whether it be from kit, sponsorship or donations”
