New Brighton pub reopens after six-figure refurbishment

Popular Hungry Horse pub, the Seahorse, located in New Brighton, reopened its doors on Thursday 26 May following a six-figure investment and refurbishment.

The interior of the pub has been completely redesigned, with the removal of an interior wall and all new décor bringing a fresh, bright look to the busy family pub.

What’s more, the indoor seating has been reconfigured, increasing the overall capacity, and allowing larger parties of up to 20 to dine together.

As part of the refurbishment, four new 75-inch TVs have also been installed at the Seahorse, giving guests access to a variety of HD sports all year round.

As well as changes to the decor, the bar area has also been revamped and added three brand new flavours of Thatcher’s fusion cider in Haze, Berry, and Lemon, along with customer-favourite cocktails including passionfruit spritz, espresso martinis, and margheritas all available on draught.

Jennifer Beatie, general manager of the Seahorse, said, “We’re so excited to welcome guests back to the Seahorse following such a stunning refurbishment. The team has been working so hard to get everything ready and there are so many new and exciting features for guests to enjoy.

“It doesn’t matter if you’re dropping in for a quick drink or if you’re looking for a big family meal, the Seahorse has something for everyone.”

The Seahorse is always looking to welcome new members to the team and is currently recruiting for a variety of roles for front and back of house (full and part time). For details, please email Jennifer Beatie directly at
