The Dusty Teapot is a community interest company whose aim is to promote the heritage of Merseyside. The company is run by Richard Jackson and David Hearn – Richard is a digital heritage specialist and David is an historian.
We are all very aware that COVID restrictions have taken a heavy toll on people so we are aiming to brighten things up by holding an exhibition of images of Liverpool and New Brighton dating from the late 18th Century to the 1960s including engravings, paintings and photographs.
Every image in the exhibition has been scanned from either an archive print of original negative and digitally cleaned leading to unparalleled levels of detail and clarity.
There is no entrance fee and no need to book – simply turn up and take a journey back in time! The gallery is children and dog friendly and has a ramp to assist wheelchair access.
There are plenty of other attractions in New Brighton including the Oakland Gallery with its free exhibition of contemporary art together with the UK’s largest collection of street art by local, national and international artists.
The ‘Merseyside in Focus’ exhibition is open from 10am to 4pm every day from 3 July to 31 July at the Rockpoint Pop-Up Gallery in Victoria Road New Brighton. A new book featuring all of the photographs in the exhibition will also be on sale priced at £15.
