Monday 22 August 2022 – A 2-0 victory at Poulton Royal ensured that third-placed Sutton Ath. stayed in contention for promotion from the MSC Express West Cheshire League’s Division Two.

Jack Elomaa’s solitary strike proved the difference, as Cheshire Lines accounted for Runcorn Sports and it was celebration time for Maghull Res., who romped home 5-0 against South Sefton Borough, thanks to efforts from Jacob Jones (2), Louie O’Brien, and Danny Rickets.

In Division Three, prolific marksman, Dylan Lawless, stole the show once again, his hat trick anchoring leaders, Aintree Villa Res. to a 7-1 decision over Rainhill Town Res. Further goals from Jamie Watkinson (2), Alfie Lambert, and Stephen Andrews completed the statistics with Andy O’Toole on target for the visitors.

Second-placed challengers, Neston Nomads were indebted to efforts from Matt Williams, Jack Coll and Nathan Ellis which clinched a 3-2 win at Ellesmere Port Town Res., who hit back via Jack Swift- Douglas and Sam Moore, while the points were shared, after goals from Capenhurst Villa Res.‘ Matty Vickers and Harley Williams were cancelled out by replies from Hooton‘s Matty Redmond and Scott Nickson.
