Roads that were closed due to a vehicle fire on the M53 have now been reopened.
Fire crews were called to a vehicle fire on the M53 on the Moreton spur sliproad heading southbound this afternoon.
Merseyside Police and Merseyside Fire Service dealt with a one vehicle collision where the vehicle caught fire on the M53 Moreton Spur slip to M53 Southbound. The slip was previously closed forcing traffic onto the M53 Northbound.
Fire crews were alerted at 2.28pm and on scene at 2.32pm, with two fire engines in attendance.
Crews arrived to find all persons out of the vehicle and began to fight the fire with a hose reel jet.
The fire was extinguished by 2.47pm and the scene was handed over to Motorway Police before leaving at 3.01pm.
