Moonlight Flicks open-air cinema returns to Claremont Farm for Halloween

What's this?

Storyhouse’s much-loved Moonlight Flicks is returning to Claremont Farm for Halloween.

A collection of fantastic films are coming to the big screen at the popular Wirral venue over the October half-term holiday.

And Moonlight Flicks is delighted to be back after audiences enjoyed a sell-out spooky season of screenings there last autumn followed by two months of movie magic this summer.

The 2021 crime comedy Cruella comes to Claremont on Sunday, 24 October. The film imagines the early life of the future 101 Dalmatians baddie, with the title role played by Oscar winner Emma Stone.

What better time and place to screen Shaun the Sheep movie: Farmageddon? In the Aardman Animations sci-fi comedy, Shaun and his fellow flock at Mossy Bottom Farm encounter a friendly alien with extraordinary powers who they must help avoid the attention of the Ministry for Alien Detection.

Get ready to do the Time Warp when Richard O’Brien’s camp cult classic The Rocky Horror Picture Show lands at Claremont Farm on Thursday, 28 October.

And then on Friday, 29 October, the programme concludes with a Hocus Pocus. The hit 1993 family fantasy film stars Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker and Kathy Najimy as a villainous comedy trio of witches who are accidentally resurrected in Salem on Halloween night.

All the films are shown on our giant 30ft Airscreen, and refreshments will be available from Claremont Farm café.

Nicky Beaumont, Film and Digital Programme Manager at Storyhouse, said, “We’ve built a really brilliant relationship with Claremont Farm over the last couple of years, and our Moonlight Flicks audiences love the setting and atmosphere there.

“Last autumn’s Halloween Moonlight Flicks was a sell-out and we’re sure this October will be just as popular – there are some great films being screened, both cult classics and family favourites but which all share a magical or supernatural theme.”

Claremont Farm café and farmshop is located at Old Clatterbridge Road, Bebington, CH63 4JB.

Tickets are on sale now.
