Merseyrail services unaffected by planned strike action

Merseyrail services will be unaffected by planned industrial action from Tuesday, 30 January, to Monday, 5 February, by members of Aslef.

All Merseyrail services are planned to run as scheduled.

A Merseyrail spokesperson said, “We understand strike action can be frustrating and confusing for our passengers. Often, Merseyrail is not involved in any strikes, however other operating companies that strike can impact the services which we provide.”

Other Train Operating Companies in the UK will be affected by industrial action. The dates and affected services are as follows:

  • Tuesday 30 January: Gatwick Express, Great Northern, South Western Railway (including Island Line), Southeastern, Southern and Thameslink
  • Wednesday 31 January: Northern and TransPennine Express
  • Friday 2 February: c2c, Greater Anglia (including Stansted Express) and LNER
  • Saturday 3 February: Avanti West Coast, London Northwestern Railway and West Midlands Railway.
  • Monday 5 February: Chiltern Railways, CrossCountry and Great Western Railway

Merseyrail services are not affected on any days.
