Merseyrail issues Christmas timetable changes

During the festive period, there will be changes to Merseyrail timetables, with some services finishing earlier than usual and some services not running.

In the past, Merseyrail has run late-night trains in the run-up to Christmas and services on Boxing Day. Due to the impact of COVID-19, these services will not operate this year. There are no planned engineering works for the rest of the year. For information on future planned works in 2021 click here.

Thursday 24 December

Train services finish early on Christmas Eve (approximately 20:00)

Friday 25 December

There are no trains running on Christmas Day

Saturday 26 December

There are no trains running on Boxing Day

Thursday 31 December

Train services finish early on New Year’s Eve (approximately 20:00)

Friday 1 January

A 30 minute service will run on all lines on New Year’s Day
