Merseyside Police is appealing for information following an attempted robbery in Woolton yesterday evening, Thursday 30 March.
At around 7pm, police received a report that a grey Ford Focus was being driven along Manor Road when the drivers of two cars, a grey Land Rover Defender and a black Ford Fiesta, blocked its path.
It was reported that two men got out of the cars brandishing knives and approached the victim in the Ford Focus, made threats and attempted to rob him.
Following an altercation, the victim was able to get away and the offenders made off in their vehicles.
The victim sustained a scratch to the face which did not require hospital treatment.
An investigation is underway with extensive CCTV and witness enquiries being conducted and police are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.
Detective Inspector Katie Coote said, “This was a frightening incident and thankfully the victim wasn’t seriously injured, and which could have led to tragic circumstances.
“I would like anyone who witnessed what happened who we have not already spoken, or saw the suspects anyone making off to please come forward.
“Similarly, I ask motorists and residents in the vicinity to check your dashcam, CCTV and doorbell footage for anything captured which could be vital to the investigation.
“If you know anything, please tell us and we’ll take action to find those responsible and bring them to justice.”
