Men armed with weapon rob social club

Detectives are appealing for witnesses following a robbery at a social club in Gateacre on Saturday 31 July.

At around 11.20pm it was reported that two men armed with a weapon entered Woolton Conservative Club on Belle Vale Road and demanded money.

The suspects took money, three bottles of alcohol, and a set of car keys before driving off in the stolen vehicle, a black Darcia Stepway.

No one was injured during the incident.

Enquiries are ongoing, including examining CCTV footage.

Detective Inspector Chris Saidi said, “This was a very distressing incident for the people who were working that night to experience.

“I urge anyone who was in the vicinity of the club on Belle Vale Road who may have noticed something suspicious on Saturday at around 11pm onwards to please contact us so we can bring the offenders to justice.

“I am also appealing for drivers and residents with CCTV and dashcam to please check your footage which may have captured the two suspects in the area.

“Business burglaries are not a victimless crime as they have a huge impact on the community in many ways. We are determined to find the offender so that other businesses are not targeted in future.”
