Micky Mellon previewed this Friday’s game against Crewe Alexandra and says that there is always a ‘special atmosphere’ when Rovers play under the lights at Prenton Park.
“We love the Friday nights and there’s always a special atmosphere at Prenton Park so we’re really looking forward to it. The players love it and the fans love it so it will be a good game to be involved in.
“We’re still pushing to improve the group because we know that there is still a lot of improvement to be made so we keep pushing them to get better and better. You’re never happy with where you’re at because you always want to push forward and get to a better place.
“We’re very pleased at the moment but like I say, we need to keep pushing. We’re not sitting here and patting ourselves on the back thinking we’ve cracked anything yet, we’ve got to keep going. Even though we’re getting results and winning games, there’s always parts of the game you can get better at. We’re certainly moving in the right direction.
Crewe are the visitors to Prenton Park on Friday and the Railway men sit a place below Tranmere in the League Two Table. The boss is under no illusions about the test ahead of his team.
“It’s always difficult to play against Crewe, they’re always good technical players who have been at the club for a while so they’re very proud to play for them. There will be a big atmosphere here so it makes for a really good game.
“We’ll have to be at our best to get a result, as we always do regardless of who we’re playing against. We need to keep going with our identity and what we want to do and concentrate on us.
“Our home form has been good in the past but you can’t just rely on saying that, you’ve got to actually be very good at home rather than just saying it. We’ll make sure that the players and ready and in the moment.
