Merseyside Police has confirmed enquiries are underway following the discovery of a man’s body in Tower Quays, Birkenhead this morning, Friday 9 September.
At around 9.55am, emergency services were called to a report that the body of a man had been seen in the water.
North West Ambulance attended and he was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
A post-mortem examination will take place to establish the cause of death, and the body is yet to be formally identified.
Tower Road is currently closed while emergency services attend the incident. We ask that the public avoid the area and find an alternative route. We thank you for your patience as we deal with this incident.
