Man stabbed in buttocks in Old Swan

Merseyside Police is appealing for information following a report of a stabbing in Liverpool yesterday (Tuesday 15 February).

At around 5.40pm officers were called to a report that a man was stabbed three times to the buttocks by a group of unknown offenders outside Aldi on Broad Green Road, Old Swan.

He was taken to hospital for treatment and has since been discharged.

An investigation is underway and anyone with information is asked to get in touch.

Detective Inspector Ben Dyer said, “We are carrying out extensive enquiries after a man was seriously assaulted in Liverpool yesterday evening, and we are keen to speak to anyone who witnessed the attack or was in the area at the time and saw anything suspicious.

“The use of weapons is reckless and will not be tolerated, and can have devastating consequences, not only for the victim and their family but also for the offenders involved. I would urge people to educate themselves and speak to their children and family members about the dangers of knife crime.

“We will act on all information reported to us around knife crime, and I want to appeal to anyone with information about knife crime in Merseyside, or this incident in particular, to please get in touch.”
