Detectives investigating a stabbing in Liverpool city centre have issued a CCTV image of a man who could have information to help their enquiries.
At around 11.30pm on Saturday 4 February, officers were called to McDonalds on Ranleigh Street, after receiving a report that a man in his 20s had sustained a stab wound to his arm.
The victim received the injury after he had tried to intervene to stop a fight between two unknown males.
The two males made off from the scene on foot following the incident.
An investigation has been launched and, following extensive CCTV enquiries, police have released a picture of a man who they believe could have information to help the investigation.
Detective Inspector Chris Saidi said, “We are keen to trace the man pictured as we believe he could have information which is vital to our enquiries.
“There would have been a lot of people inside the premises during this time, so if you witnessed this incident please come forward and help us to remove dangerous weapons and those who use them from our streets.
“Whether you let us know directly, or anonymously, through Crimestoppers, please contact us and we will take action.”
If you recognise the man pictured or have any information about this incident, please DM the Merseyside Police social media desk on Twitter @MerPolCC or Facebook ‘Merseyside Police Contact Centre’ quoting reference 23000103393.
You can also contact the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
