Merseyside Police is appealing for help to identify a man detectives believe may have information that could assist enquiries into the assault of a man in Liverpool.
At around 1.20am on Sunday 29 May it was reported that a man approached the victim, a 46-year-old man, at a smoking shelter outside the Loft on Allerton Road and punched him to the torso before walking away.
The man returned to the shelter and punched the victim again, to his face and torso, before leaving the bar, heading towards Menlove Avenue.
The man was taken to hospital with serious facial injuries and is now recovering at home.
Merseyside Police is appealing for help to identify the man pictured, who may be able to assist the investigation.
DI Jennie Beck said, “This was a violent attack on a man who was just enjoying a night out with friends and family in Liverpool.
“No one should have to go through such a shocking attack when they are out in their hometown.
“If you recognise the man pictured, or witnessed any part of the incident, then do let us know as any information you hold could prove vital in our efforts to bring those responsible to justice.”
