Merseyside Police has issued a CCTV image of a man who could have information following a reported assault in Liverpool city centre.
At around 7.30pm on Sunday 18 June, it was reported that a group of men were involved in an argument with another man in Rubber Soul, on Mathew Street.
Another man, aged in his 30s, tried to intervene but was struck with a glass and needed hospital treatment for a head injury. He is now recovering at home.
All those involved were removed from the premises by security.
Police enquiries are ongoing into this incident and they believe the man pictured may have information.
Detective Inspector Katie Coote said, “This was a nasty attack that left the victim in need of hospital treatment.
“To carry out such a vicious assault is appalling and we are determined to find the person responsible.
“Our enquiries are ongoing and we hope that the CCTV images can assist our investigation.
“We believe the man pictured could have information. If you recognise him, please get in touch.
“Similarly, if you saw the incident on Sunday evening, please contact police as soon as possible.”
