Man feared for safety as bike stolen on board train

Detectives investigating a robbery on a train have released a CCTV image in connection with the incident.

At around 6.20pm on Friday, 19 January, a man boarded a train at New Brighton station with his Trek Roscoe 7 bike.

Two young men who were part of a larger group approached him and prevented him from leaving the train with his bike.

Fearing for his safety the man left the train without his bike at Birkenhead Central station. The young men travelled to Moorfields station with the bike, valued at around £1500.

Officers believe the young man in the image may have information which could assist their investigation.
