Man charged with ‘outraging public decency’ following Concert Square incident

A man has been charged after a video was circulated on social media of two people having sex last week in Concert Square, Liverpool City Centre.

Following enquiries, the man was arrested yesterday (Monday 8 August) in the Gateshead area by Northumbria Police, working on our behalf, and taken into custody.  

Joe Firby, 23, from Gateshead, has now been charged with outraging public decency and will appear at Liverpool Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, September 20.

Earlier this week, a 35-year-old woman was charged in relation to the same offence – two people having sex in Concert Square. 

Kelly Cousins, 35, of Bradford, but currently residing in Bootle, has been questioned by police and charged with outraging public decency. 

She was bailed with conditions not to enter Liverpool City Centre and will appear at Liverpool Magistrates Court on Tuesday 20 September at 1.45pm.
