Man charged with Encrochat drugs offences

A man has been charged after Class A drugs and cash were recovered from a house in Liverpool.

Yesterday (Tuesday 12 September) officers arrested a man on suspicion of drug offences and searched two houses in Vauxhall where they found a number of wraps of white powder hidden in a fake can of Coca-Cola and approximately £30,000 in cash.

A Seat Leon estate vehicle was also seized.

31-year-old Shaun Doyle of Vauxhall has been charged with conspiracy to supply Class A and B drugs.

He has been remanded into custody and will attend Wirral Magistrates Court today, Wednesday 13 September.

The charge forms part of the Merseyside Police response to Operation Venetic: a national investigation into the use of encrypted mobile devices, commonly referred to as Encrochat.
