Man assaulted by three men in ‘violent and unprovoked’ attack

Merseyside Police has issued CCTV images of three men who may have information that could assist enquiries following an assault at a pub in Old Swan.

Just before 8pm on Sunday 14 April, it was reported that a man was attacked inside the toilets of a pub on St Oswalds Street by three other men.

The victim sustained a fractured cheekbone and received hospital treatment after the attack.

Since the assault extensive CCTV and witness enquiries have been conducted in the area, and detectives have issued CCTV images of three men they wish to speak to, who could assist in their investigation.

Detective Inspector Katie Coote said, “This was a violent and unprovoked attack that has left a man with a serious injury to his face.

“Everyone should be able go out and feel safe in their own community without the fear of being attacked and we are working to find those responsible and bring them to justice.

“I am appealing to the three men shown in this CCTV footage, or anyone who recognises them to come forward as we believe they could hold information that could be vital to our continuing enquiries.

“Similarly, if you saw the assault or the victim involved in this incident on Sunday night please contact police as soon as possible.

“While some months have passed since the incident, any information you hold could be crucial to our enquiries. If you recognise anyone  pictured then please let us know,

“If you live in the area and have any CCTV or dashcam footage from the night of Sunday 14 April then please contact police with this information.”
