Merseyside Police has arrested a 23-year-old man following a series of burglaries in Thingwall last week.
During the early hours of Wednesday 26 July eight separate break-ins were reported in the area.
Three of the incidents happened at addresses on Pensby Road between 01.00 and 10.55am where it was reported that a man broke into the properties and stole a bike, handbag, purse and quantity of cash.
The other five break-ins took place on Beaumaris Drive and Barnston Road between 6.00 and 6.40am.
A 23-year-old man from Speke has now been arrested on suspicion of eight burglary offences, theft from motor vehicle and fraud offences.
Detective Sergeant Steven Byron said, “I hope this arrest shows how seriously we take any offences of theft and burglary on our streets and reassures our residents who have been affected by such crimes.
“Anyone who lives in our community should feel safe and secure in their own homes and we have a dedicated burglary team called Operation Castle, who focuses on hotspot areas and particular types of burglary to prevent the harm, distress and inconvenience these crimes bring.
“Our investigation is ongoing so if you have any further information or doorbell footage of the incidents from Wednesday 26 July please contact police.”
