Man arrested following stabbing at railway station

A man has been arrested following a stabbing at Hamilton Square railway station on Wednesday, 8 May.

Officers were called to Hamilton Square station at 3.07pm on 8 May to reports of a stabbing.

British Transport Police officers attended alongside North West Ambulance Service paramedics and one person was taken to hospital.

Their injuries are not believed to be life-changing or life-threatening.

One man aged 18 was arrested at the scene on suspicion of GBH and possession of an offensive weapon.

He remains in police custody.
