Man appears at Wirral court after being stopped on M62 with 10kg of cocaine

Merseyside Police has arrested and charged a man following the seizure of around 10 kilos of suspected cocaine on the M62 yesterday, Tuesday 20 April.

At around midday, a Ford C-Max was stopped between junction 9 and junction 8 of the M62, near to Warrington. A search was carried out and around 10 kilos of suspected cocaine in wrapped parcels was found and seized.

33-year-old Scott Patel of Oldham Road, Manchester was arrested, taken to custody for questioning, and has now been charged with possession with intent to supply Class A drugs. 

Patel was remanded in custody to appear at Wirral Adult Remand Court today, Wednesday 21 April.
