A drug dealer from Liverpool has been jailed for more than three years in prison following an investigation into County Lines drug dealing.
Anthony Doyle, 37 years, pleaded guilty at Plymouth Crown Court on Wednesday 26 July and was sentenced to three years and nine months in prison.
Following a detailed investigation Doyle, formerly from Liverpool, was arrested in Plymouth last month and later charged with the supply of heroin and crack cocaine and driving while disqualified.
This latest sentencing under Operation Toxic was a joint investigation with Devon and Cornwall Police to tackle County Lines drug dealing and child criminal exploitation.
Detective Inspector Gary Stratton from Merseyside Police said, “This is latest sentencing of Doyle is a good result as it means that a county drug line between Liverpool and Plymouth has been closed.
“Doyle is originally from Liverpool and had embedded himself as a resident in Plymouth. However, a joint investigation showed that he was dealing drugs to local drug users in the Plymouth area. The evidence put before the courts was so strong that he pleaded guilty to the charges.
“We know the destruction that drugs cause, and Merseyside Police remains relentless in our pursuit of these criminals and to bring down serious and organised criminal groups.
“I hope this result shows that Merseyside Police, will leave no stone unturned in our pursuit of these people who think they are above the law, and we will continue to target criminals like Doyle by thoroughly examining any evidence we find.”
