Lairds suffer defeat despite strong effort from stand-in keeper

Following their excellent away victory in midweek versus Brocton FC, Cammell Laird 1907 FC travelled to Cheadle Heath Nomads on Saturday.

Unfortunately, this performance was not of the standard expected and they fell to a 3-0 defeat, which was not helped by goalkeeper Dave Potter leaving the pitch injured in the first half.

However, team captain Ryan Smith put on the gloves and had a great game between the sticks when producing a number of fine saves.

Yet again poor finishing and sloppy defending resulted in another loss, despite the effort put in by the team.

Lairds are at home this Saturday 25 March against Abbey Hulton United for a 3pm kick off.
