Lairds Reserves earn emphatic win over Poulton Vics

Tuesday evening saw West Cheshire League Third Division champions, Cammell Laird 1907 FC Reserves, entertain lowly Poulton Vics.

The reserves gained more points to add to their tally in an emphatic 7-2 victory.

Ace marksman, Kieran Hughes netted two more goals to his total and was supported by man of the match Luke Burns, who also scored, along with singles from Adam Larway, Ben Crossley, Dale Atherton, and Jayden Jones, in a great team effort.

Thursday evening saw them play against West Kirby Reserves in the Wirral District FA Amateur Cup semi final and sealed a dramatic win when going nap to ease through to the final.

Early exchanges were even and after 30 minutes so were the scores at 1-1, but then a succession of goals for Lairds either side of the break saw them run out 5-1 victors during a great team performance in which player of the match (again) Luke Burns fired home four goals and Ellis Jones completed the rout.

Lairds now play Second Division team Neston Nomads in the cup final on Monday, 13 May, at the KRCT Stadium in a 7.00pm kick off.
