Lairds defeated by visiting Brocton

Table topping Brocton FC travelled to Lairds on Saturday with the eventual outcome being in favour of the visitors.

As in recent games, Lairds conceded a goal within ten minutes, but fought back gamely in an end-to-end tussle without taking any of the chances created during torrential rainfall. HT 0-1.

A bright start to the second half saw Kieran Hamm level matters in the 47th minute, but yet again poor defending resulted in Brocton retaking the lead and in the final 20 minutes they added three more goals to secure the points and a 5-1 victory.

The result has caused Lairds to drop down the division when only four games ago they were in the top six.

Warrington Town are next up in the Cheshire Senior Cup tomorrow (Tuesday 3 October) with a 7.45pm kick off.

Then back to league action on Saturday away to promotion hopefuls Market Drayton Town with a 3.00pm kick off.
