Tranmere Rovers unveiled Kristian Dennis as their first summer signing, putting pen to paper on a two-year deal from Carlisle United.
Dennis played a key part in the Cumbrian’s promotion to League One, scoring 21 goals as Carlisle beat Stockport County on penalties last month.
The frontman has been around the English leagues for a while now and made his name back in 2015/16, when he notched up 22 goals for Macclesfield.
He had a similarly prolific season, scoring 19 times for Chesterfield in League Two and 13 for Notts County just three years ago before moving to Scotland with St. Mirren.
Dennis’ latest move is now Rovers, and he becomes the first signing of Ian Dawes’ permanent reign in charge.
Upon his arrival, Dennis said, “I’m really happy. I came last week to meet the manager and was really impressed with the place.
“Every time I’ve played here, I’ve enjoyed it. There seems to be a good fanbase who are passionate and get behind the team. Hopefully, I can score goals for Tranmere and get us up the league.
“It’s a really good facility here (at The Campus) and if everyone comes back with a fresh mindset and a fresh approach to the season, it should be a successful one which hopefully I’ll be a part of.”
Ian Dawes said, “It’s great to bring Kristian to the Club. He comes off the back of scoring 20 league goals and helping Carlisle to promotion and I believe he can add the goals we lacked in the last campaign.
“He’s one of only three players in League Two to score more than 20 goals last season and he also shares our mentality and desire to push for promotion this season and I look forward to working with him.”
