Knifepoint robbery in Liscard leaves man injured

Merseyside Police has confirmed that a robbery took place outside a shop in Liscard on Friday 3 November.

Just after 2pm on Friday, officers received a report that a man was approached by a group of men at the car park of Tesco Express in Liscard. The group of men attacked him with a knife and stole a quantity of cash. 

The man suffered superficial stab wounds to his stomach and arm that were treated by paramedics at the car park.

An investigation is underway in the area and officers are carrying out CCTV and witness enquiries in the area.

Chief Inspector Phillip Thompson said, “We are in the early stages of investigating a violent incident which has left a man with stab wounds to his stomach and arm.

“The use of knives and any weapons is reckless and causes great fear and violence which will not be tolerated in our community. Our officers are currently working to find anyone responsible for this crime.

“If you were at Tesco Express in Liscard Village and saw the incident or have any dashcam footage from your vehicle please contact police as soon as possible so we can continue to investigate this incident.”
