Merseyside Police has charged a Kirkby man with drugs and firearms offences following an arrest on Monday, 25 October.
At around 9pm, officers on patrol in Whitfield Drive, Kirkby stopped a car in suspicious circumstances. A search was carried out and around £5000 cash was found. A man was taken into custody for questioning.
34-year-old John Wayne Cass of Westvale has now been charged with possession of criminal property, conspiracy to supply cocaine; conspiracy to supply cannabis, and possession of a firearm.
Cass appeared in court today (Wednesday 27 October) and was remanded into custody to appear at a later date.
The investigation forms part of Operation Venetic, the international mobile encryption investigation.
