Just Eat rider assulted and bike stolen in Walton

Detectives have issued CCTV images of two males who could have information that may assist with their enquiries following a robbery in Walton.

At around 9:15pm on Saturday 12 March it was reported that a group of males assaulted a Just Eat delivery rider at the junction of Salop Way and Tetlow Way.

They stole his electric bike and assaulted him again before making off.

The 23-year-old victim sustained minor injuries which didn’t need medical treatment but is very shaken by the ordeal.

Extensive CCTV and witness enquiries have been conducted, and detectives have issued a CCTV image of two males they believe could assist in their investigation.

Detective Inspector Neil Dillon said, “This was a cowardly attack for the victim to have experienced which happened while he was trying to make an honest living. He is receiving the full support of officers.

“This incident took place near McDonalds on Walton Road, and I urge anyone who saw the incident or noticed something suspicious around that time which may have been captured on dashcam footage then please contact us.”
