This week, One Vision Housing marked the completion of its Conway Point development, a new apartment complex helping residents of Wirral to become homeowners.
Conway Point is on Conway Street, Birkenhead, between Cathcart Street and Watson Street.
By utilizing the Rent to Buy initiative offered by the housing association, customers can take advantage of reduced rent that is approximately 20% lower than the market rate. This assists them in saving money for a deposit and ultimately purchasing the apartment in which they live.
One Vision Housing is part of The Sovini Group, a construction, property and facilities services company delivering a unique end-to-end supply chain as they stive to build a better future for its communities.
As part of the group’s development strategy to address the issue of high housing costs, the project was completed with the goal of constructing more than 1,000 high-quality, affordable homes within the next five years.
Built on brownfield land by Sovini Construction, Conway Point was designed with modern living in mind by Condy Lofthouse Architects and was constructed using a ‘fabric first’ approach that focuses on the reduction of energy consumption, through thermal efficiency and running costs.
Apartments all feature environmentally efficient specifications, supplied by local independent building merchant, Sovini Trade Supplies, including toilets, taps, showers, and light fittings, contributing towards the Group’s net-zero carbon commitment.
At an event earlier this week, colleagues from across the Group, Wirral Council, Homes England, and contractors who worked on the project came together to celebrate its completion.

Ian Mitchell, Managing Director of Housing at The Sovini Group said, “Our Conway Point development is delivering on our [The Sovini] Group’s vision of a better future, as we create opportunities and change lives by helping local people to get onto the property ladder. We look forward to welcoming customers into their new homes and seeing them thrive within our communities for years to come.”
James Flannery, Director of Construction and Land added, “The Conway Point development has been designed and built to the highest standard. The apartments strive to be energy efficient as we continue to embrace renewable technologies with an environmentally friendly approach to construction. Building a better future for One Vision Housing’s customers by creating sustainable social impact and transforming local communities was and will continue to be central to all our operations.”
