Independent Wirral Market launches this weekend

This weekend sees the launch of the highly anticipated Independent Wirral Market @ Woodside. The market, which is dedicated to showcasing independent traders from across Wirral, has been a big hit with local businesses and the launch weekend ‘sold out’ in a matter of days.

Doors open this Saturday, 1 May at 11am and the market will run across the Bank holiday weekend from 11am – 7pm daily and then weekly every Thursday to Sunday. During key school holiday dates the market will then move to seven days a week, with a focus on fun for the whole family.

Organisers say the market will be ‘packed with award-winning local businesses and unique goods’ aimed to inspire shoppers and add an exciting new element to the Woodside Ferry Village food and drink hub.

Twenty four retailers will be showcasing their wares in the new, dedicated chalet village and there will be a wide range of goods on offer including bespoke fashion, beauty and skincare products, gifts, toys and handmade sweets and confectionery along with an eclectic selection of homewares.

The market, which is collaboration between Woodside Area CIC and local business champions, Independent Wirral, is set to be the largest, permanent, independent market in the region. Situated alongside the hugely popular Woodside Ferry Village, the new market will add a whole new dimension to the area, allowing visitors to eat, drink and shop whilst supporting a whole range of independent businesses.

Woodside Area CIC Manging Director, Sharon Stanton Commented, “We are delighted that Independent Wirral are helping drive our market project. They work with an amazing range of local businesses from across the area and we can’t wait to open the doors this weekend and showcase the incredible talent we have here on Wirral.”
