Ian Dawes speaks ahead of Grimsby Town clash amid recent poor run of form

Ian Dawes spoke to the press to preview Tranmere’s clash against Grimsby Town.

Rovers are coming into the fixture on the back of two abject displays against relegation-threatening sides, so a reaction is imminent.

Dawes explains his players are eager to learn and listen, ahead of the Mariners visiting Prenton Park.

“At any stage, late in the league season, I don’t think you can judge a team and we always watch games leading into games, but what we’ve got to do is make sure our approach is right and that we can go out there and win the game for each other and the fans. The players are all eager to learn and all eager to listen.”

Despite his sides recent poor run, Dawes is still faithful to his players and believe the effort and intensity is there.

“The players, to a man, are all giving 100% and the running data in the games have been unbelievable, so they are going out there and running for the club and for the fans.

“You can see what they are trying to do, so every credit to the players. They could feel sorry for themselves about the injuries and sulk about it, but they are not, they are coming in every day, trying to improve, and trying to get better for Tranmere.”
