High hopes for Cammell Laird 1907 FC as season set to begin

Cammell Laird 1907 FC begin their North West Counties First Division South campaign at home this Saturday (29 July) versus Stafford Town.

The new management team led by Andy Cass and Joe Sephton plus their newly assembled squad will be looking to erase the errors of last season and bring some leadership, success and stability back to the club for season 2023-2024.

Pre-season friendlies have been challenging, which included an abandoned fixture versus Ruthin Town due to torrential rain and then the postponed fixture versus Tranmere Rovers U-18’s due to yet more heavy rainfall.

However, two further fixtures saw them romp home 9-3 and 5-0 to provide them with much-needed game time before this week’s opener.

All at the club are excited by the new challenge and wish Andy and the squad all the best of luck for the season and hope they can reignite Lairds as a force to be reckoned with.

The other opening fixtures are – Maine Road away on Monday 31 July – 7.45pm kick off.

Saturday 5 August away versus Alsager Town with a 3.00pm kick off.

Then Tuesday 8 August at home versus Winsford United with a 7.45pm kick off.

Local support is most welcome with entrance fees being £6.00 and £3.00 for concessions.
