Happy Times Activities cut the ribbon on a dream come true

The Moreton based activity centre that provides wellbeing and bespoke activities for adults with additional needs is celebrating due to their successful funding grant from Levelling Up, for their new onsite changing places facility.

The Levelling Up Fund of £74k and support from Rise Adaptations made it possible for them to secure a Changing Places Pod at their Activity Centre.

Founder Director Helen said, “It’s something that I’ve felt personally passionate about for a very long time.

“People deserve to have their needs met, and going to the toilet is such a basic and important one. We are over the moon to have this top-of-the-range facility at Happy Times”

Operations Manager Leila said, “The difference this has made already for our members is incredible and it’s available to anyone in our community, so spread the word, everyone is welcome to use.”

Inside, members designed a feature wall and they opted for fun images of a joined skyline of Wirral and Liverpool, giving it a bright, fun, and modern look, featuring all their favourite places.

Helen added, “It has a fitted hoist, adjustable changing bed and shower, making it possible for people to feel confident coming out into the community and able to stay out, for longer periods.

“This will really improve the quality of life for those that need it and they deserve that.”

Happy Times provides an exciting mix of daily wellbeing activities to improve confidence and communication. For more details on the changing facility or Happy Times visit www.happytimesactivities.co.uk or call 0151 641 0176.
