Group takes on Three Peaks Challenge in memory of friend

A group of friends are raising money for Wirral-based suicide prevention service, The Martin Gallier Project in memory of a childhood friend who took his own life.

The friends said, “This is a great community-based non-clinical service, providing suicide prevention, intervention and post-intervention support.

“Additionally, the service provides Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training workshops to families, businesses, and partner services across the region. They also support individuals and families bereaved or affected by suicide.”

The friends’ challenge was to climb the National Three Peaks of Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike, and Snowdon within 24 hours.

They hope to continue to raise awareness, normalise conversations around mental health, and hopefully raise some much-needed funding for The Martin Gallier Project. It costs on average £80 to provide a life-saving suicide intervention, so every donation really does make a vital difference.
