Future Yard becomes an Arts Council National Portfolio Organisation

Future Yard CIC has successfully secured investment through Arts Council England’s 2023-26 Investment Programme.

Awarded by the Arts Council, National Portfolio Organisations (NPO) are leaders in their areas and Future Yard will receive £150,000 annually following the announcement of Arts Council England’s latest three-year investment scheme.

The Birkenhead music venue is one of 990 organizations across the country to receive a £446m share each year as part of the Arts Council’s new national portfolio of funded organizations for 2023-26.

A spokesperson for Future Yard said, “Future Yard is founded on a singular and steadfast belief; that music can change the world.

“By reimagining a community music venue as a transformational opportunity, we create life-changing experiences for local young people, incubate emerging new talent, bring the very best national and international artists to Birkenhead, while working to ensure music can play a transformational role in the lives of local people.”

The team at Future Yard believe that by doing this, they can change what Birkenhead means in the world, “We can build hope, aspiration and pride in our town, a place that for too long has been overlooked, misunderstood and ignored.”

This investment provides stability to support Future Yard in achieving its mission. Over the next three years, the team will now be able to reach even more young people, work with even more artists and create more opportunities for our neighbours to engage with high-quality events and training programmes that will enrich their lives.
